In order to fully utilize our databases users must have the following settings on their PC. For ASD Users this isn't necessary since we have asked IT to set-up group policy settings that automatically set this but users in other departments will receive an error - likely with a banner on top asking them to Enable macros - if it is not set-up.
How to manually set Trust Center Options1) Open up Microsoft Access on its own. The simplest way to do this is to click Start and type "Access", selecting the application when it appears.
2) Click to create a "Blank Database". This is purely for set-up purposes so it doesn't matter where you save it.
3) Click the the "File" tab in the top left.
4) Click "Options" towards the bottom of the list.
5) In the Access Options window that appears select "Trust Center" and then "Trust Center Settings..." to the right.
6) In the Trust Center navigate to the following categories and ensure the following options are set:
- Trusted Locations: \\ci.okc\okc\
- Check Allow Trusted Locations on my network

- ActiveX Settings: "Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting" (This one is technically optional if they don't mind being prompted occasionally).
- Macro Settings: "Enable all macros"
7) Click "OK" twice once you've confirmed or added these settings. The DB will now be able to run without receiving errors.
